A few notes to ensure we’re on the same script page.
My Rates, Terms and Conditions:
A few guidelines!
- Voice-over rates are based on a number of variables: the medium (radio, television, internet), the market (local, national, international), the length, the nature, and the use of the audio.
- Rates can be determined per project, length of script, or per word.
- The more specific you are about what you want, the easier it is to give you an informed quote, and the read you need.
- The prices below are “starting” rates, and are subject to change at any time.
- Remember I’m always happy to provide a sample before confirming a booking (samples will be rough and unedited).
- Figures are for the US market.
- If you have a pre-existing way of quoting not seen below (ex. explainer videos on a per minute or hour basis), let me know, and I will see if we’re a fit!
For corporate/web/explainer videos, my basic session starting fee is $250. This is without tax, if applicable, and includes:
– To voice and edit my reads so you have a clean, produced, and clear quality audio file
– Studio setup
– Retakes in case of errors (voiceover artist’s misreads)
– Option to listen in via Skype, Zoom, Google Video (Source Connect, ISDN and ipDTL coming soon!)
– Supply of cleaned voiceover tracks in broadcast-quality WAV or an easily edited mp3 (or other format of your choice)
– One retake – if the original recording was a self-directed session with only one take provided (this does not include a re-recording based on changes in the script after the initial audio was recorded. The recording of a script that was revised after the first text was officially approved and recorded, is regarded and billed as a new project.)
Depending upon the size of the job/client and if the work will be extensively used on the web, rates may need to be adjusted .
For Online Advertising and Video On Demand, knowing the specifics like length of campaign, location of placements, etc will allow me to estimate more accurately using this online rate calculator along with the SAG-AFTRA professional guide used by Voiceover agents to provide a quote. You can use it yourself (note time, market, and length of scripts) and add my BSF to get a ballpark figure.
My latest demos can be downloaded on my clips page, here:

For E-learning there are three price rates I offer: Raw audio at $0.10 per word for basic script (medical language or complicated terminology with separate pronunciation pages will add $0.10/word), edited audio at $800 for 15 finished minutes for straightforward projects under one hour BSF. Happy to discuss different estimates based on your needs.
Rates for other projects are very much client and project dependant, though a good reference point is the Gravy for the Brain Rate Card. But please do not hesitate to contact me for an exact quote.
Payment Terms and Conditions:
For current or repeat clients:
Once my services have been officially engaged, the agreed fee is payable immediately and no longer than within 30 days upon receipt of invoice via bank transfer or Venmo to avoid late fees. Payment via credit card/Paypal must be agreed to in advance, and will incur up to a 6% charge to cover their fees (depending on servicer).
For new client relationships:
Payment is due in full before recording happens. Payments must be done online for immediate verification. No personal checks will be accepted.
Late Payment:
If you think payment could take longer than 30 days, this must be agreed to in advance. If outstanding payment exceeds thirty (30) days without prior agreement, fees will be applied to the total amount due for every month it is late, up to 5% per month.
Copyright & Intellectual Property:
All prices quoted are pro-rata. All copyrights, intellectual property rights, broadcasts rights, and any other rights associated with the artist (for clarity, the actor/worker hired by the hiring company) and the artist’s works and/or performances shall remain with the artist.
Upon full payment of my invoice, the following license is granted by the artist for usage rights of the works listed as follows:
License details: The artist’s works may be used by the hiring company for a period as specified on my invoice, unless otherwise stated, upon which time the works shall cease to be used, or an additional usage payment (equal to the usage payment in the original invoice plus 10-20%) shall be made to the voice artist. The artist’s works may only be used for the agreed product or service (and any of the platforms or mediums) detailed in the invoice line-items, and not in any additional products or services in the future, unless otherwise stated.
**For the sake of clarity, this also means that the works may never be incorporated into any text-to-speech, synthetic voice, or Al Voice models, on any platform or medium, known now, or ever in the future.**
The artist’s works may only be used in the geographical region as specified in the invoice line-items, unless otherwise stated; if no geographical region is stated, the license specifies that this is the hiring companies country location only. The hiring company may not transfer the works, nor this license to any third parties, (including the sale of the hiring company itself) without the written consent of the voice artist.
Artist shall be able to use any recording session, in part or in full, for self-promotion or in updated clips on this website or in any website showcasing artist’s work, upon first airing anywhere online, within company (for training videos), or upon release on television or in theaters.
Revisions – Terms and Conditions:
With self-directed sessions (when you will not be listening in to me as I record), a pre-recording meeting – either via video chat, phone, or email, will need to be conducted to ensure the tone and pacing is addressed before recording. I can also send a sample for approval before completing the work, if requested.
After the tone/feel of the project is agreed upon, I will send my interpretation. If you aren’t 100% happy with the submitted recording afterwards, I am happy to re-record with more direction. If script changes are made after the recording, I will charge a revision fee (as this is out of my control). This fee will be proportionate to the extent of the changes made to the script and the time it takes to re-record and edit, so feel to discuss this before recording takes place if you have concerns.
With directed sessions (where you have listened in and provided feedback during the recording), I will give you a copy of every take recorded during the session, so you can pick and choose which works for your project. We will have agreed in advance how long the session should be to cover everything in your project, and confirmed a price accordingly. If the session necessitates going over the agreed time, then I will charge according to my basic studio fee rate of $250 per hour unless verbally agreed during the session or in writing beforehand at a different rate. This would be a minimum of $60 for up to 15 minutes, $125 for an extra half hour, or payment for the full hour rate for any longer.
Upon acceptance and/or use of any voice over files, these terms and conditions are considered accepted unless otherwise noted in writing (email acceptable). Any further changes, either to the script, usage, or project, would need to be negotiated and billed as an new order.
